Some exciting news to share — our photos of the Pollywog Station Lavender Farm made the front cover of Parker City Lifestyle and were featured inside the article, too. It was such a joy to capture this beautiful place, and seeing the images featured like this feels incredibly special.
Visiting Pollywog Station Lavender Farm in Parker, Colorado
Tucked away like a secret waiting to be discovered, this breathtaking haven unfolds in waves of lavender—fields upon fields, each in a different stage of bloom, painting the landscape in soft purples and silvery greens. At the heart stands a stoic 1800s homestead, weathered and wise, whispering stories of generations past.
My newest publication, ‘Ghost Town’ is an adventure story, published in the newest Writing Journey Anthology called JOURNEY TO ADVENTURE – A Writing Journey Anthology.
The story collection in this anthology is all about adventure, quests, and thrilling expeditions offering a great variaty of genres and diverse tales.
‘Ghost Town’ features two characters from a middle grade series, ‘Panther’s Head’, that I am working on. In this story, two girls enjoy a summer camp in the Colorado Mountains. One afternoon, the campers visit a ghost town, and the two girls stumble over a secret.
AI is on everyone’s lips these days, and as controversial as it is, I guess it’s here to stay. So, I want to figure out how it works. I already know that AI can be helpful with my writing process, help me edit and critique my texts, or help me find the right words for the right situation.
It can also be helpful and support the creative process when used with a bit of caution. I participated in a workshop the other day, offered by Nucly Akademy (my favorite Photoshop Learning place – www.nucly.com). During the workshop, we created a monumental text with the help of AI.
In Spring 2023 one of my colleagues, Matthew, challenged me to write a flash fiction piece. I had never written flash fiction before. I’m a novel writer. Even the short stories I write challenge me to stay within the usual 3,000-word limit. Now, flash fiction is even more limited, to 500 to 1500 words. I took the challenge just to prove to myself that I could do it.
You can find my speculative fiction short story “That’s my Life – or is it?” in the newest Writing Journey Anthology called THE SPACES IN BETWEEN – A Writing Journey Anthology. This anthology is a diverse collection of “what if” questions across four imaginative cues: One More Day, Suddenly Sentient, Forever Changed, and Never Returning.
You can now read my sixth short story “Sacred Blue Love” which is published in “Denizens of the DEEP” – Illustrated stories and poems by the WRITING JOURNEY.”
